My Philosophy
- As educators, our primary aim is to develop young people who are creative and critical thinkers, effective communicators and collaborators and who love learning.
- Educating young people about their bicultural responsibility and awareness is vital. We must be responsive to learners' needs. Student voice and other relevant, robust and constructive critique must be sought at every opportunity.
- Expectations from communities and families are high and school leaders must pay direct attention to developing an organisational culture of excellence, through innovation and collaboration, aligned with a shared vision and purpose.
- Fostering empathy for those less fortunate is an important part of a student's development, as is building a sense that they can make a difference through their actions.
- Professional learning for teachers is essential for continuous development.
- Our ultimate goal should be well-rounded students, with the skills, confidence and desire to contribute meaningfully to society - both locally and globally.
